Initiated by NEDO we are doing research and operation on a demonstration project at “Hibiki Sea”, northwest of the Kanmon straits to investigate cost-efficient facilities and construction methods under the weather and marine conditions in Japanese coastal waters. Those activities include design verification based on measured data, as well as research in efficient maintenance and management methods for the system operation and investigation into the floating body and the mooring system by using remotely operated vehicles (ROV).

遠浅の沿岸部が少ない日本において、着床式洋上風力発電に比べ浮体式洋上風力発電の立地可能領域は5倍近いポテンシャルがあります。
発電システム全体を陸上、並びに港湾内で建設し、完成後に設置場所へ曳航するので、洋上でクレーン・起重機船を使用して建造する必要がなく、エ期の短縮、製造コストの削減につながります。
In Japan, where there are not so many shallow waters along the coast, floating wind power generation technology can provide nearly 5 times higher capacity than bottom-fixed one can. Its generation system itself is completely assembled at the harbor and then towed to the site, which means there is no need of construction work using crane ships at sea, leading to a shorter construction period and a significant cost reduction.
バージ型浮体の施工性 Workability of barge type floating body
単純で高さのない構造のため製作しやすく施工性が向上。喫水が浅いため水深が10m程度でも接岸係留でき、港内などで風車の搭載が可能。
Easy to manufacture due to its simple and low-height structure. Because of its shallow draft, it can be moored to berth and equipped with a wind turbine in a harbor at a water depth of less than 10 m.
バージ型浮体の係留性 Mooring property of barge type floating body
八角形は四角形に比べて潮流抵抗が小さく、係留にかかる張力の低減が可能。
Octagon-shaped barges, which we have adopted, have less resistance to tidal waves than square-shaped ones do, and then can reduce tension in mooring.
